Hundreds of people have descended on Brighton Hill Retail Park tonight for a car meet up.
The car park has been filled with scores of cars and dozens of people for the event.
The sounds of revving engines and suped up exhausts has left staff at McDonald’s struggling to hear the orders of customers at the drive thru, according to witnesses.
The motorists and their friends gathered at the car park around two hours ago.
Police are said to be aware of the event and are attempting to disperse it.
According to one onlooker, a number of cars were "drag racing" along Winchester Road.
Hampshire Constabulary has been contacted for comment.
A resident said they were nearly "knocked off the road" by cars "drag racing".
They said they live nearby and the noise is loud and disruptive.
"The cars are loud, my children are unable to settle. It's wet, it’s dangerous.
"This has been going on for two hours and still not stopped.
"(The) roads are dangerous enough without this behaviour," they added.
