BASINGSTOKE and Mid Hants Athletic Club has an unprecedented total of 16 members placed in the top 20 of the end of year UK rankings.
Three senior men are ranked in the top 20 nationwide, with Ben Hazell third in the decathlon and Robert Tobin fourth in the 400m. Two more decathletes, Dean Showler-Davis and Sam Sleap, also make the top 20, at eight and 20 respectively.
Emma Buckett, who represented Great Britain at the World Junior Championships last summer, makes the top 20 in four under-20 events. She is second in the heptathlon, fifth in the long jump, sixth in the high jump and seventh in the 100m hurdles.
Tanisha Clayton is ranked 10 in the under-20 shot, while Matthew Lavoipierre is second in the men’s under-20 400m hurdles rankings.
At under-17 level, Myles Richardson is ranked 13th in the 200m, while Stuart Parker comes in at 20 in the long jump.
Kierra Barker was the club’s most successful athlete over 2012. She is the top ranked pentathlete and high jumper at under-15 level, while she is also ranked at four in the long jump and five in the 75m hurdles.
Barker’s performances have been so impressive that she also appears in the top 20 for older age groups. Her high jump mark means she is the 12th ranked under-20, while she is fourth at under-17 level. In addition, she is ranked 11 for the long jump at under-17.
Fellow under-15 Lucy Bomphrey ended 2012 ranked 18 in the 100m, Libby Bundock is ranked fourth in the javelin and 20th in the 75m hurdles, while Evie Wilcox is eighth in the discus.
On the boys side, Owen Richardson is ranked 10th in the 200m and 15th in the 300m, while JJ Crookes ended the year 18th in high jump and 19th in the pentathlon.
Katherine Abel is the only under-13 to make the rankings, ending the year fourth in the javelin.
