REIGNING Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One champions North Warnborough never looked back at AC Marstons after Tom Davies fired in an early brace.
Andy Parker added another, before Davies completed a first-half hat-trick for a 4-0 interval lead. Shortly after the re-start Parker made it five before Warnborough inexplicably went to sleep, letting Marstons score twice for a final scoreline of 5-2.
In-form Republic of Chineham took a first-half lead with strikes from Adam Di Mambro and Wayne Finn. In the second-half CI halted the visitors’ momentum with Paul Oliver and Keith Davies on target to level the scores and press for a winner. However, Republic, thanks to a Ben Dillon winner, won 3-2 with the last kick of the game.
Basingstoke Sports and Social turned over a new leaf and hammered Kaiser Wessex 4-0 in their first game of 2013. Alex Izzo comfortably put away a first-half hat-trick, with Stuart Cubbage adding the fourth.
Sports and Social dominated the game, bringing the very best out of the Wessex goalkeeper who kept the score down to manageable proportions. This is was the first home win of the season for Sports and Social and their first success since September.
