HEAVY snow and freezing conditions played havoc with the sporting calendar over the weekend, forcing many games to be cancelled.
With the Camrose laying beneath a blanket of snow several inches thick, Saturday’s game between Basingstoke Town and Maidenhead United was called off at 9am in the morning.
The rest of the football calendar also suffered, with Hartley Wintney, Whitchurch United, Tadley Calleva, AFC Aldermaston and Overton United seeing their games called off, while there was no action on either Saturday or Sunday in the Basingstoke and District Leagues.
Basingstoke RFC were also left without a game, their trip to Hove being postponed on Friday due to adverse conditions in Sussex, while it was a similar story for the rest of north Hampshire’s rugby teams.
