CHARLIE Mann, who is sponsored by local tool and fixing company Basingstoke Bolt & Tool, finished third in the 2012 Kart championship at Camberley Kart Club.
Mann, who is 10, finished just one point behind second place in an erratic season of 12 races.
He said: “It was my first full season racing with many highs and lows. I have learnt a lot and I hope to challenge for victory in 2013.”
Darren Smith, director of Basingstoke Bolt & Tool, added: “It was great to see Charlie doing so well in his first full season racing and to finish third in the championship was excellent, especially given that four out of the 12 races he did not complete due to either mechanical, accident or disqualification. We wish him every success for 2013.”
Cadet karts are for children aged between eight and 13-years-old and can reach speeds approaching 60 mph.
