AFTER another frustrating week, with Saturday’s game falling to the weather, we can look forward to hosting the league’s form team.
Welling are the team to beat at the moment. They are on an excellent run and have a very talented squad of players.
They are in the habit of winning and, as we know from last season, that is a great habit to get into. We know we will have to be on the top of our game to get anything from the match but it will also show us where we are at the moment.
Shaun McAuley and Matt Warner have recovered from the injuries they picked up against Staines but we may find that the game comes a little too soon for Delano Sam-Yorke to feature.
We are entering a very busy period, where we have games Saturday and Tuesday through until the middle of March and it is important that we keep the players fit and as fresh as possible during this spell.
We have been fortunate over the last week or so in that, while most teams have struggled to find training facilities due to the weather, we have had access to an indoor artificial pitch at Reading FC. It is a fantastic facility and has enabled us to keep ticking over.
We have sent Nathan Campbell out on loan to get some games. Unfortunately, due to the weather, he has not been able to play as yet but hopefully over the next couple of weeks he will get a few matches in, so he comes back ready to help us out during our busy period.
Regards,
Jason
