BASINGSTOKE RFC remain very much in contention for second place in the London One South table after beating Hampshire rivals Havant 38-18.
The match took place despite the snow and rain thanks to excellent work by a dedicated group of volunteers - and their efforts were rewarded with a 'Stoke win.
Havant opened the scoring with a penalty and led 6-5 thanks to a second successful kick following Jamie Fish's try.
Matt Horne put Basingstoke back ahead but a Havant try reduced the lead to a single point.
Karl Buttle's try just before the break put 'Stoke 19-11 ahead at half-time and the four-try bonus point was secured soon after, thanks to a penalty-try.
Further tries for Fish and Freddie Gleadowe gave the hosts an unassailable lead before Havant claimed a consolation score late on.
