FOUR second period goals helped the Basingstoke Bison to a 6-2 win at Telford to extend their lead at the top of the English Premier League to three points on Wednesday night.

However, the Herd did not have it all their own way as Tigers Tim Burrows scored the only goal of the opening session.

The Bison drew level at 23:54 from leading goal scorer Greg Owen, only for Burrows to net his second some nine seconds later for Telford.

Three goals in a two minute spell then won the game for the visitors as Nicky Watt scored either side of a Joe Miller strike.

The first talking point of the final period was a fight between Telford's Daniel Croft and Bison's Joe Greener for which both picked up four minutes for roughing.

A Herd powerplay saw Greg Chambers netted goal number five, before Watt completed his hat-trick two minutes from time.

Matt Selby on his debut was the Bison's man-of-the-match and the teenage picked up two assists on the night.
