SKEWERS’ unbeaten march to the Basingstoke and District League Division Two title goes on thanks to a 2-1 win over AFC Berg.
Berg gave them a game and took the lead through Sam Cato on 20 minutes, while Nick Tucker made good saves from Dan Manton and James Perryman to prevent a leveller until the 61st minute, when Manton converted a pass from Ashley Perryman.
Although they had Ben Wood sent off for dissent, Skewers managed to come away with maximum points when Jamie Perryman took a pass from Luke Manton and beat Weaver five minutes from time.
Elsewhere in Division Two, Tron Reserves and Bengal Brasserie drew 2-2, Chineham Albion Reserves beat Baughurst Reserves 5-1, Aldermaston A beat Sherborne St John Reserves 9-1 and Basingstoke Athletic and Labour Club drew 2-2.
