TADLEY and District Boxing Club boxer Andrew Davis has made a great start to his career, booking his place in a national final after five wins on the trot.
The 12-year-old’s last three wins came in the space of a week. The first two were over City of Portsmouth boxers Harvey Marsh and Rob Robbins and then he saw off Brighton’s Adam Scott.
Davis won all his bouts convincingly and stopped Scott early in the second round, an impressive burst of punches forcing his opponent back on to the ropes.
Also in action for the club was 11-year-old Tommy James, who fought Tom O’Callahan from Crawley ABC.
James came out quickly, stinging his opponent early on and putting him on the back foot.
He set a relentless pace, which lasted the whole fight and earned him a unanimous verdict.
The Tadley club train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Baileys Gym on the Moniton Trading Estate from 7pm to 9pm.
