ON SATURDAY, we visited Sutton and we were well beaten by a very good side. We looked very tired and lacked the energy and tempo our play needs.

We have had to ask a lot of the players in the last couple of weeks. With so many injuries, players have had to play a lot more than if we had a fully fit squad to rotate.

On Saturday, it looked like a game too far for us. That is to take nothing away from Sutton though, as I believe they looked the best side we have faced this season.

There is a lot of football to be played in the next few weeks, and we hope to get a lot of the injured players back to full fitness.

One player who will be out for a few weeks is Simon Dunn, who has a hamstring injury. Simon is a huge loss for us with the energy he brings to the side.

Manny Williams has been nursing a groin injury for a couple of weeks, but hopefully that will clear up very shortly.

This week, we face Havant for the fourth time this season. Havant are a very strong side with some excellent individuals as well as being very well organised and drilled as a team.

They have a fantastic chance of reaching the play-offs this year, and they will be all out to get three points.

Last week, we were able to give all of the players in the Academy a run-out, with a league match on Wednesday and a friendly on Thursday.

It was a great chance to have a look at how the first years have developed this year, and it is great to see so many of them involved in the league side and progressing really well.

The trials continue for next year’s intake over Easter. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact the club or look on the website for more information.
