NOW that the league season has finished, we will be turning our attention to the Hampshire Senior Cup final on May 12.
We face Havant and Waterlooville for the fifth time this season and will be looking to get our first win.
Three of the previous four games have been extremely tight, with one draw and two 1-0 victories for Havant.
I know Lee Bradbury will have them well drilled and very difficult to beat, but we can go into the game confident of victory.
We ourselves will plan and prepare well for the game and it promises to be a good final.
I think we can summarise our league season as disappointing.
We started well, and up until Christmas, we were always in contention for the play-offs, but a disappointing second half of the season meant we fell short of our target.
There were times when we showed glimpses of what we were capable of but not on a consistent enough basis. We are very disappointed and frustrated at the way the season ended, and now we have to make sure we put that right.
The Academy signed off with an excellent win against Gosport Borough on Monday.
The game showed what the players have been working hard on for two years. Never have I seen our Academy look so comfortable in possession and control a game from start to finish.
It really gives you a sense of pride when you see the team develop and mature together over the period of time they have.
Regards,
Jason
