TADLEY boxer Andrew Davis won his final of the Minors National Championships in Worsley, Manchester.
The 12-year-old fought Reiko Rickwood from Sandy Gate ABC in the 43kg category.
Both boxers entered the ring with an unbeaten record of five wins, but Rickwood started as a slight favourite, having beaten a schoolboy champion easily in his previous bout.
Davis came out quickly, putting his opponent on the back foot from the start. He landed some great shots, not allowing Rickwood to settle into a rhythm.
The pace continued into the second round – with Davis really dominating.
He started to bring uppercuts and hooks into the combinations, forcing his opponent back on to the ropes on several occasions.
In the third and final round, both boxers tired, but Davis came out on top of the exchanges to maintain his advantage.
He showed great heart and determination throughout the bout and his performance earned him a unanimous decision from the judges to make him the champion.
Tadley and District Boxing Club train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm at Baileys Gym, Moniton Trading Estate.
