LAST weekend we secured a place in the play-offs with two games to spare and, mathematically, we are still able to win the league.

That’s an achievement that the players can be proud of, but it’s important that we now take advantage of the good position we are in, finish the season strongly and see where it takes us.

Last Saturday we were disappointed with the performance and result, but it took two goals from mistakes from set pieces to separate the sides.

It was a shame that we didn’t perform and keep the pressure on Bromley. They can now win the league this Saturday.

This weekend we face one of the other confirmed play-off teams in Havant and Waterlooville.

Both teams will be looking for the win but at the same time, they won’t want to show all of their cards in case we meet again in a couple of weeks.

We will be without Shaun McAuley and Liam Enver-Marum through suspension, which means that other players have the chance to step in and fill the void. When players have been injured or suspended this season, it has given others the opportunity to prove their worth and shown how strong our squad is.

Havant will be without a couple of players through suspension too, so it will make for an interesting game.

We have had more trials last week and the Academy is taking shape for next year already. The quality of the trialists has been high and we can expect another good season next year.

There is one more date in May. If you are interested in trialling for the full-time scheme for next season, contact me on jason.bristow@btfc.co.uk for more details.
