THIS weekend we we host Chelmsford in the FA Cup.
Chelmsford overcame the very tricky task of beating Ebbsfleet in the last round, so they will be coming full of confidence and believing they can progress through to the next stage of the competition.
I’m sure Ebbsfleet felt that they had increased their chances of winning after holding Chelmsford at home and taking the game back to Stonebridge Road, but credit to Chelmsford, who put in an excellent performance.
To say we have not had the start to the season we had hoped for is a huge understatement.
The results have been very disappointing and we now find ourselves looking up the table rather than down, as we were at the same stage last season.
A lot of hard work has gone on in the last few weeks and we are looking to try and find the right ingredients to turn things around.
We will continue to work hard day and night to rectify our poor start.
On the injury front, we are still without Jamie Brown with a groin problem, while Simon Dunn is a huge doubt and we will also be without Shaun McAuley through suspension.
Last week Lloyd Macklin suffered an injury in the warm up, which meant he wasn’t able to participate.
This was a real shame as I felt the game was crying out for him to come on, but we are hopeful that he will be fit for the game on Saturday.
Regards,
Jason
