James Wootton wins Basingstoke Parkrun
BATH Triathlon Club's James Wootton raced to victory in the latest edition of Basingstoke Parkrun.
Wootton completed the 5km course around War Memorial Park in 18min 13sec. John Kew (Maidenhead AC) was second in 18:45, just ahead of third-placed man John McElroy (Chineham Park Running Club), who finished in 18:49.
Rebecca Cackett of Basingstoke and Mid Hants was the fastest woman in 20:26.
Parkrun is a free, timed 5km race that takes place in War Memorial Park at 9am every Saturday. For more information, visit parkrun.org.uk/basingstoke.
