BASINGSTOKE boxing club's Will Nimako won the Southern Counties Development Championship light welterweight title in Ramsgate with a convincing win over Billy Castle of Bognor Regis.
Nimako won all four rounds convincingly, keeping Castle at bay with a sharp jab before unloading fast combinations, the judges were all in unanimous agreement with the decision.
The week before in Southampton, Nimako beat Margate's Ainsley Adams again by unanimous decision, winning every round to set up the final with Castle.
The Southern Counties champion is next in action in the National quarter-finals when he will face the winner of Western Counties and London at Mitcham in Surrey.
Last year Nimako won in each stage of the championships, before going out to the eventual title winner in the semi-final, this year he hoping to go all the way.
