BASINGSTOKE RFC will be looking to end their London South West Two campaign on a high as they face a basement battle with visiting Weybridge Vandals.
Stoke have turned in some good performances in recent games and will fancy their chances on Saturday at Down Grange.
These sides met in the opening day of the campaign with Weybridge winning 30-7, since then both sides have had a tough time and the visitors arrive in Hampshire winless in their last nine outings.
Stoke warmed up for the encounter with a 36-7 loss at Old Reigatian, which was a far cry from the 57-0 home reverse earlier in the season The visitors started the game very well and dominated the first 20 minutes camping in the home half.
Old Reigations then used their scrum to good use The visitors hit back and for the next 20 minutes were on the front foot spending ample time in the Reigation half.
Some good team play and a couple of great line breaks helped Stoke create some great forward momentum which resulted in Will Joyce carving through the defence and backing himself to the line. He then converted his own try.
Stoke captain Rob Northcote said: “Losing is never easy, especially when you see the effort given by the players but I’m always proud to be part of this team and very excited to see what the future holds.
“I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at home this weekend as we aim to finish this tough season on a high.”
