IT IS exciting times for AFC Aldermaston as they return to the Hellenic League Division One East and face a baptism of fire with a trip to reigning champions Penn and Tylers Green on Saturday.
Aldermaston’s first home league game is a week on Saturday when Sandhurst Town will be the visitors.
Club chairman Martin Desay is delighted to see the side back in the Hellenic League and said: “It was always our ambition to return to this level and I feel we have a much improved squad. We have been given the toughest possible start against the league champions, but fingers crossed we do well.”
Having moved back to Hellenic League, Desay has no ruled out the side entering the FA Cup next season for the first time in the club’s history.
