FOR THE third time in their last four games, Overton United ended up on the wrong end of 3-2 scoreline.
This time it was at high flying Liphook, as they gave the home side a 3-0 head start, in their latest Hampshire Premier League clash.
In fact Liphook netted three times in the opening 12 minutes, and at this point Overton changed their formation going to a 4-4-2, as it looked like they were on their way to a thumping.
Having survived to the break still only three goals behind, Overton regrouped and really bossed the second half.
Nathan Rae won a free-kick, which Johnie Gurney took, and having been blocked, Rae was the first to react and scored.
Overton continued to dominate and scored a second goal on the hour mark.
Josh Taylor and Gurney combined, before Richard Spiers on the turn scored.
This left the visitors 30 minutes to get an equaliser and Kieron Fuller came closest, as his volley from a corner was headed off the line.
Talking after the game, manager Gregor Restell said: "This was typical Overton game at the moment really high scoring. Earlier in the season, we were keeping clean sheets, but could not score. Now we are scoring goals we are also conceding."
This weekend, Overton on their travels again to Hedge End Rangers and Restell said: "They are in the last relegation place, if three go down, and 10 points behind us. So it is a massive game and one we need to win to make that gap even bigger."
