LONDON Irish suffered their first defeat of their Championship campaign, as they lost 15-11 against Jersey Reds on the Channel Islands.
Gary Graham’s try three minutes from time, sealed the win for the home side, as they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
Irish opened the scoring after 11 minutes as Scott Steele went over for a 5-0 lead.
Nick Scott levelled things for the home side. A drop goal from Exiles’ Ben Ransom gave them the lead again and then on the stroke of half time Callum Sheedy’s penalty locked the sides at 8-8.
Three minutes after the break a Brophy Clews penalty gave the visitors the lead again, before Graham crashed over and Sheedy’s conversion sealed the victory.
The Exiles have the chance for quick revenge next Sunday (2pm) at the Madejski Stadium when Jersey are the visitors.
