BASINGSTOKE'S young tennis ace Casey Drake is all set to make his county debut as they look to book their place in the National finals.
The eight-year-old is currently a pupil of Castle Hill Junior School has been selected to represent Hampshire and the Isle of Wight juniors for the Aegon Tennis Nine and Under County Cup Team.
Drake will travel to Gloucester on Saturday, August 19, as part of a eight player squad which also includes William Addleton, Oliver Cole, Dennis Dimov, Emma Bebbington, Victoria Emsberger, Eva Lakey and Maria Mills.
Hampshire have been drawn in the South One group and will take on Avon, Gloucestershire, South Wales and Wiltshire.
Drake hopes to help Hampshire to victory which would mean they would qualify for the National Cup competition.
The eight-year-old took up playing tennis four years now and has won many competitions, tournaments, trophies and medals from local, county and regional tournaments all over England.
He has represented his club in Winchester in many team county tournaments in Hampshire and remains unbeaten to date.
Drake, whose tennis hero is Roger Federer, is currently the Nine and Under Hampshire county champion and leads the Hampshire leader board as the number one in terms of points and rankings.
He will be going back to defend his title at the end of August.
