WHITCHURCH United opened their league campaign with a 2-2 draw against visiting Christchurch with all the goals coming in the first 45 minutes.
Jack Ormiston a new signing from Winchester City gave the Jam Boys the lead and only one of saves of the season denied him a second.
The visitors levelled, but Dave Panter restored the lead after he followed up a shot from Cal Williams.
Whitchurch boss Carl Bennett then could not believe it when Christchurch were awarded a non existence penalty and levelled things at the break.
After the break, the game was a stalemate as it ended 2-2.
Bennett said: "We were minus a few players so this showed the strength of our squad. I think Christchurch and Tadley Calleva are favourites for this league, so it was a good result for my young team."
On Saturday, Whitchurch are away at Ringwood and then on Tuesday travel to Sholing for a Hampshire Senior Cup tie
