WHITCHURCH United boss Carl Bennett was upbeat despite seeing his side exit the Hampshire Senior Cup at Sholing 4-0.
Against one of the top sides in the Wessex League Premier Division, his Division One outfit only trailed 1-0 at the break.
They could have gone in level as Dave Panter was unlucky not to score an equaliser.
Bennett said: "I could not fault the work rate and commitment of my team. Sholing will win their league and they moved the ball around so quickly, my guys closed them down, but we were always going to run out of steam by the end of the game."
The Jam Boys boss is looking for the same again on Saturday, when they entertain East Cowes Vics in a league game, before a trip to Tadley on Tuesday night.
Last Saturday, the Jam Boys went down 5-1 at Ringwood in the league, as Nick Yeomans scored their only goal.
