SILCHESTER tennis ace Hannah Smith, has been selected to represent England at the Home Internationals Championships held in Glasgow.
Smith played two jam-packed days of team tennis days at the The National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, London in the the AEGON Team Tennis Premier Finals.
Team Tennis is a singles-based competition played across over 1,000 clubs and venues throughout the nation.
It offers players the opportunity to compete in regular league matches in a fun and competitive team environment.
In total 24 teams reached the finals as a result of winning their respective Tier 1 Region during the league stage of the competition, which ran from April to June.
Smith playing for her club West Hants LTC won the Girls under-14 category.
An impressive performance saw West Hants LTC upset top seeds Nuffield Tennis Academy to claim the title.
They overcame the strong Yorkshire team to clinch a solid 8-2 win.
From this success, Smith was selected to represent England at the Home International Championships, held at the Scotstoun Centre Glasgow later this month.
Earlier this summer, Smith also helped her school Talbot Heath win the Aberdare Cup Team Tennis National Schools Trophy.
The teenager also came second in the Girls’s under-14 doubles finals at the Nike British National Tennis Finals.
