OVERTON United recorded their fourth win in five games with a 1-0 win at Winchester Castle in the Hampshire Premier League.
The visitors had a couple of early chances, before George Jones gave them the lead after 20 minutes, with a well struck left foot shot into the bottom corner.
Five minutes later, Overton's Matty Bennett was then sent-off for a dangerous tackle.
The visitors had to adjust and despite being down to 10 men Steve Price gazed the post, before half-time.
After the break, Overton continued to work hard on a heavy pitch with the back three of Darren Turner, Louie Chambers and Charlie Manning outstanding.
The trio managed to limit Castle to a couple of half chances.
Joint manager Carl Clayton said: "This was a huge performance from the lads. It is now just a shame we no longer have Paulsgrove on Saturday, as we owe them for a cup defeat."
In fact, Overton now have no game until their Hampshire Intermediate Cup tie on December 2.
