HOOK and Newnham Basics went down by one wicket at Andover in a game which saw just shy of 500 runs scored.
The visitors put into bat posted a scored of 245-9 and Andover made 246-6 getting home with three balls to spare.
Hook won the toss and decided to bat and opener Richard Willcock (84) top scored and then Jordan Hobday (62) added middle order runs.
Asher Hart, Luke Graham and Charlie Ayers all took two wickets each for Andover.
In reply, the home side chipped away at the total, with some solid partnerships to just reach their target.
Will Arnold batting at number three top scored with 73 and in the end Matt Hooper and Matt Knight saw them home.
Anik Divecha and Harry Warner both took two wickets each for Hook.
Hook are in action today at home to Burridge in a second round T20 Cup clash against Burridge, where they will be wearing their new sponsored kit from Hook Tandoori for a second time.
