JORDAN Hobday smashed a superb 75, as Hook and Newnham Basics made the final four of the Southern League T20 Cup, as they took another Premier Division scalp, this time at Bashley (Rydal).
Hook continued their winning run in the competition in their new Hook Tandoori sponsored kit as this time they enjoyed a 63-run success.
Having decided to bat, the visitors lost Richard Willcock for 12, but fellow opener Rhodes Franklin (38 from 33 balls three fours and two sixes) and Hobday added 100 for the second wicket.
Hobday was the second man out, having hit 11 fours and two sixes in his 43 ball knock.
Matt Buckingham kept the scoreboard ticking over with 30, which saw him hit four fours and one six from 19 balls.
Shane Brewer (14 not out) then added two sixes in brief three ball innings which helped Hook to 193-6.
The home side were always up against and only Tim Taylor got to grips with the visiting bowlers as he scored 64 as they reached 130-8.
Harry Warner and Rupert Armstrong both took two wickets and the rest of attack Shane Brewer, Anik Divecha, Rhodes Franklin and Liam Shore collected one each.
This Saturday, Hook are back in league action when Ventnor are the visitors.
