OVERTON United’s new management team of Ben Dillon and Joe Lawler enjoyed a great start to their Hampshire Premier League campaign as they won at reigning champions Paulsgrove 2-0.
Ross Cook scored the opener after 25 minutes and then Michael Pemberton netted a second 10 minutes from time.
In between the two goals, Overton’s Craig Atkinson saved a penalty.
After the game Lawler said: “ They are a good side and I think they will be competing at top of league again.
“So was a really good start for us, they are very physical and we stood up to them and played football well.”
Last night, Overton were away at Stockbridge and on Saturday travel to Infinity.
They are another of last season’s top sides and dished out a 7-0 hammering on Tuesday night at home to Locks Heath.
