HOOK and Newnham Basics lost their north Hampshire derby game against visiting Andover by 19 runs.
Andover batted first and thanks to Glyn Teagus (102) and Max Romar-Lee (53) who shared a second wicket partnership worth 99, in an all out score of 237.
Anik Divecha 3-26 was the chief wicket taker and there were two each for Shane Brewer, Harry Warner and Richard Willcock.
The Hook reply saw a number of batsmen get going, but none went onto make the big score needed for victory as they bowled out for 218.
Matt Buckingham top scored with 39, closely followed by Jordan Hobday 38, while Josh Buckingham 27 and Harry Warner 20 were the next best scorers.
Richard Taylor 3-48 was the top Andover bowler, while Mike Adams, Charlie Ayers and Matt Hooper all took two wickets.
The result means Hook finished seventh in the table Today (2.45pm), Hook are in action in the final of the Finch Guy Jewell Cup at May’s Bounty against Basingstoke and North Hants.
