GEORGE Hallahan scored four times as Overton beat the Ringwood Town Development side to book their place in the second round of the Hampshire Intermediate Cup
Their first goal was scored by centre half and captain Darren Turner, with a flick header into the top corner at the near post assisted by Lucas Pickett from a corner.
After two games without a goal George Hallahan bounced back in great fashion scoring four times to take his tally up to nine in seven games this season, which is extremely impressive.
After the game joint manager Joe Lawler said: "I have to give a lot of credit to Ringwood I thought they played some good football and tried playing the right way all throughout the game and the they probably felt very unlucky to come away without scoring.
"However on to the good from us, we had another much changed side especially at the back with a number of players unavailable and some missing through injuries.
"So the fact we were able to keep a clean sheet was very pleasing."
Overton will hope Hallahan will be able to take his goalscoring form into this weekend when they are away at Fleetlands in the Hampshire Premier League.
It will be an extremely difficult game as they are third in the table, one point above Overton, after beating Lock Heath 5-2 last weekend.
Overton go into the game full of confidence and will be looking for a positive result.
