BASINGSTOKE Town have appointed a new manager in very experienced coach Martin Kuhl.
The 53-year-old replaces caretaker boss Terry Brown, who took over from Jason Bristow at the beginning of last month.
Kuhl’s first game in charge should have been Saturday’s visit to King’s Langley, but heavy rain caused the match to be postponed.
So instead Tuesday night’s Hampshire Senior Cup tie at Hartley Wintney, will be his first game in the Town dug out.
The new Dragons boss is a highly decorated Pro Licenced coach having won promotions with both Aldershot and Wycombe Wanderers.
He also played a major role at Reading Football Club working under Brian McDermott, Nigel Atkins and most recently Jaap Stam.
Alongside that role Kuhl managed one of Reading’s most successful under 23 sides that the club had produced.
Dan Brownlie assistant to both Jason Bristow and Terry Brown this season continues in this role.
Kuhl is no stranger to the Basingstoke players having watched them in action prior to taking up the appointment.
Former Town manager Terryy Brown will revert to his role of Director of Football along with the added responsibility of being the chair of the Community Board, and said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Martin to the club and look forward to working with him.”
Kuhl’s first league game in charge will be Saturday’s home game against Hendon.
