WHITCHURCH United returned to winning ways on Saturday with an excellent 2-0 victory over visiting Laverstock and Ford in the Wessex League Division One.
The Jam Boys took the lead after 25 minutes as a mammoth punt up field from the home goalkeeper caused confusion between Laverstock's Lewis Barr and Rob Crossley, which allowed striker Ryan Long to nip in to lob home after 25 minutes.
Whitchurch doubled their lead before the break as free-kick 25-yards out was blocked by the wall, but the ball fell to Liam Stone, who fired in from the edge of the box.
After the break, the Jam Boys had further chances to extend their lead, as Long nearly scored a second and Nathan Gray hit the bar as well.
Manager Glyn Cherrett said: "I was really pleased with the performance and it was nice to get three points."
Whitchurch this week are on their travel to Folland Sports.
