OVERTON United B turned in a five star performance to win the Basingstoke Saturday B Cup 5-0 with a victory over North Warnborough, writes TONY SPENCER.
North Warnborough, the former Basingstoke Colts in their first season in adult football, found Division Two champions Overton too hot to handle.
Boro started off the brighter and got in the first shot within a couple of minutes but, almost in their first foray forwards, a cross to the far post was knocked in by Andrew Tottman for 1-0 to Overton.
Straight from the kick off, Boro lost possession and the Overton centre-forward scored, leaving Boro with a two-goal deficit after only eight minutes.
This was end-to-end football and around 20 minutes Boro managed a shot saved at one end followed up by a header well saved by the Overton goalkeeper.
Tottman netted from a deep cross from the right, putting Boro three behind at the interval.
Nineteen minutes into the second half Randall scored to put Overton four ahead and Boro had little more to offer.
A minute into injury time at the end of the game, Bailey Roffey headed in to make it 5-0 to Overton.
