BASINGSTOKE and North Hants moved into the second round of the Southern League T20 Cup after a 20-run victory at Fair Oak in a low scoring affair.
In a reshuffled line-up the Bountymen were put into bat and opener Jordan Hobday hit 34 off 22 balls which included four fours and two sixes.
Middle order batsmen Bradley Neal then top scored with 35 and captain Dan Belcher added 13 in an all out total of 114.
Asad Abbas was the top Fair Oak bowler with 4-19.
The Bountymen then turned in a superb bowling display with spinner Rakitha Perera leading the way with 4-12, and Chris Jolley removed the home side's opener on his way to 1-13.
Brad Neal proved to be the meanest bowler as his four overs yielded just eight runs.
Basingstoke will now be at home in the first round to Langley Manor on June 16.
This weekend, they are away to Bashley in the league on Saturday and at Normandy in the National Club Championship on Sunday.
