BASINGSTOKE and North Hants seconds enjoyed an excellent 110-run victory over St Cross’ second string at May’s Bounty.
Having been put into bat, Chris Jolley with a 21-ball 17, which included an early six, got the scoreboard ticking over nicely.
Fellow opener Josh May also did well with 36 which included seven fours.
However, it was Craig Williamson with a fine 60 from 77 balls, which included nine fours and six, which was the highlight of the innings.
Along with Steve Bucksey (32) they put on 85 for the fourth wicket and then after that, some quick-fire scoring from Dean Nurse (12 from 12 balls) and Greg Donaldson (18 from 19 balls) helped the home side to a useful looking 220-9.
James Allen with 5-41 was the pick of the St Cross attack.
The Bountymen opened things up with a seam attack with Chris Chandler (1-14 from seven overs) removing opener Paul Hawkins (3).
Chris Jolley (2-21) then struck twice including key man former Hampshire star Jason Laney, leaving St Cross on 60-3.
The visitors tried to hit back, but the Basingstoke spinners then took over as they went from 88-3 to 110 all out.
Keith Harris (4-9 from 5.1 overs) led the way supported by Matt Thankachan (2-23) and Rakitha Perera (1-9 from 12 balls).
Next for Basingstoke seconds is a trip to Langley Manor.
