BASINGSTOKE and North Hants second’s recent winning run was halted, as they lost at home to Paultons in the Southern League Division Two.
The visitors to May’s Bounty won the toss and elected to bat.
After a couple of early wickets from Chris Chandler (3-40), Paultons rebuilt their innings, thanks a century partnership between Julian Drake (48) and George Condon (105).
After Drake was dismissed Condon and Cameron Grierson (21) added 69 for the fourth wicket taking Paulton past 200.
In the end they were bowled out for 255, as Matt Thankachan also took three wickets.
Early on, Basingstoke were very much in the game thanks to a top score from opener Josh May (42).
However, once he departed third man out with the score on 84, the rest of the batting order only added 40, as the Bountymen were all out for 124.
This Saturday, the second team are on their travels to Totton and Eling.
