BASINGSTOKE Town found a very strong Luton Town side too hot to handle, as they lost 7-2 at Winchester City in a game of four 30 minute quarters.
The visiting Championship side put out an 11 to start the game, which included four of their summer signings.
Luton took the lead from the penalty spot after eight minutes, thanks to James Collins after Matthew Pearson had been fouled.
The home side nearly levelled things when a great cross from Reece Rusher saw Ben Wright fire over.
Four minutes into the second quarter, the Dragons did equalise thanks a great lob from Rusher.
However, by half-time the Hatters had hit back with three unanswered goals from Andrew Shinnie's free-kick, Elliot Lee and Callum McManaman.
The third quarter saw the visitors change all bar one of their players and they took the scoreline to 5-1 after goals from George Moncur and Josh Neufville.
The final 30 minutes saw Luton increase their lead further, as Harry Cornich got their sixth and then Jake Jervis made it 7-1.
However, the goal of the game was scored by the home side 12 minutes from time, thanks to a wonder striker from Riccardo Andrady.
Town carry on their pre-season at Camberley on Saturday with a double header of games, as part of the Surrey club's fun day.
At 1pm their is an Academy game and at 3pm the first team are in action.
