BEN Wright helped Basingstoke Town finish their pre-season campaign with a thrilling 4-3 win at Ashford Town (Middlesex).
Next up for the Dragons on Saturday, is their opening game in the Southern League Division One at home to Barnstaple at Winchester City’s ground.
Town took the lead in the contest after 34 minutes, thanks to new signing from Swindon and Southampton Jordan Edwards.
The home side levelled things four minutes later from Max Webb.
Five minutes before half-time Town made it 2-1 as Edwards netted his second of the game after good work from Harrison Cliff.
Once again, Ashford levelled things up a minute before the interval from Kelvin Adjei.
On 74 minutes, the home side who play in the Isthmian League South Central side took the lead from the penalty spot converted by Adjei.
With nine minutes left the Dragons made it 3-3 from close range and right on full time Wright scored the winner.
