BASINGSTOKE and North Hants hopes of not finishing bottom of the Southern League Premier Division were washed away.
The heavy rain which fell on Friday and into the early morning of Saturday, forced their crunch game at Alton to be cancelled.
The Bountymen needed to win the game and with league positions decided on average points from the number of games played, this means Basingstoke will now finish bottom, despite there being two games remaining.
The first of which is their final home outing of the season against Havant this coming Saturday.
