WHITCHURCH suffered the heartbreak of losing a penalty shoot-out in their Hampshire Senior Cup tie first round at Fleet Town.
In a really entertaining cup tie, the Jam Boys took a 2-0 lead, but Fleet hit back to level things.
Whitchurch then scored twice more to take a 4-2 advantage, only for the home side to level things with a last grasp penalty, as both sides ended the contest with 10 men.
As per the rules of the Senior Cup, the game then went straight to a penalty shoot-out which Fleet won 4-2.
The goals for Whitchurch came from Corey Cherrett (2), Craig Rutledge and Ryan Long.
The previous Saturday, the Jam Boys drew at home to Verwood Town with Wood on target for the home side.
The point from the game with the New Forest side leaves Whitchurch 13th in the Wessex League Division One table and this weekend they are on their travels to Petersfield.
