THERE was no winning end to the season for Southern League Premier Division basement dwellers Basingstoke and North Hants, as they lost in a rain affected game at Lymington by 113 runs.
The south coast side won the toss and elected to bat and recovered from being 1-1 to score an excellent 270-5 from their 50 overs.
Gareth Schreuder top scored with an unbeaten 102 and shared a fifth wicket stand worth 95 with Harry Fisher (28).
He was one of two victims for Joshua Coombs, while Ashley Neal also took two wickets removing Daniel Cox (46) and Ryan Scott (39), the pair having put on 86 for the second wicket.
Micky Vinn took the other wicket trapping opener Terry Crabb leg before for one.
Due to a shower the Basingstoke run chase was reduced to 266 from 48 overs, which they never really threatened being bowled out for 152, as they failed to recover from being 15-3.
Chris Froud top scored with 32, while Joe Oates 29 and Jordan Hobday 22 were the next best scorers.
