READING'S five game unbeaten run came to an end against visiting newly-promoted Charlton as they were beaten 2-0.
The Royals had the best chances of the first 45 minutes with George Puscas going close twice.
Charlton took the lead on 51 minutes from Jonathan Leko.
The visitors added a second from the penalty spot 10 minutes from time from Lyle Taylor after Chuks Aneke had been brought down in the area by Pele.
Reading are now 16th in the table and travel to Middlesbrough who are two places below them.
