THE Basingstoke Bison became the first team to score in Peterborough this season, but it was not enough, as they lost 5-1 to the Phantoms on Sunday night.
The Herd got off to the worst possible start as the home side scored after 24 seconds from James Ferrara.
The Phantoms doubled their advantage on the powerplay at 3:07 as Petr Stepanek as he netted Martin Susters' rebound.
Peterborough man of the match Jordan Marr was finally beaten after 167 minutes this season, as Bison man of the match Tom Ralph fired in from the blue line on the powerplay assisted by Richard Bordowski and Adam Harding.
The home side made of the victory thanks to goals from Callum Buglass and Jarvis Hunt.
Tempers then boiled over at 54:59 with three fights at once as Joe Gretton fought Ralph, whilst Kieran Raynor took on Bison's Adam Harding and Will Weldon and Herd man Alex Sampford exchanged blows.
All six players were given roughing penalties with Gretton and Ralph both given the most with four minutes each.
Peterborough wrapped up the win with their second Powerplay goal of the night scored by Glenn Billing.
The Bison have a chance for quick revenge when they entertain the Phantoms on Saturday (6.30pm).
