BASINGSTOKE RFC suffered a last minute defeat in a very tight game at home to Old Georgians as their ltest ehome game finished 29-23, writes CHRIS PRITCHARD.
On the positive sides of things Stoke did pick up two bonus points from the game
An early try from Matt Mairs, got the home on the board.
Two more first half tries followed from Simon Appleby and Karl Hayward gave Stoke a narrow half time lead.
This lead was extended in the second half, but two tries in the last four minutes denied the hosts what would have been a great victory.
The result leaves Basingstoke sixth in the London Three South West and this weekend they have a Hampshire derby clash with Gosport and Fareham who are two places between them in the table.
Stoke's next home game is on Saturday, November 23 against Warlingham in another mid table clash.
In Hampshire One, Overton enjoyed their best win of the season so far as they ended the perfect start to the campaign by leaders Southampton University Hospitals.
Overton came out on top winning 38-10 and moved up to fourth and this Saturday they are at home again when Ventnor are the visitors.
