BASINGSTOKE Town bounced back from their big loss last weekend and snapped their recent losing run with a 3-2 home victory over Bideford.
Manager Dan Brownlie made five changes to the side which lost at Frome the weekend before, as Freddie Gee, Aidan Harris, Aaron Kuhl, D’Andre Brown and Jordan Edwards all returned to the starting line-up.
The Dragons opened the scoring after 12 minutes as new signing Bradley Wilson scored his first for the club, converting a great run and cross from Harris.
The home side doubled their lead eight minutes later, thanks to a 30-yard strike from Ben Wright.
Amazingly, Town then made it 3-0 after 29 minutes as Wilson was the provider for Wright to score from close range.
Soon after, Wright released Wilson, but his shot went over the crossbar.
Bideford then tried to get themselves back in the game, but Gee in the home net was equal to their efforts.
The first chance of the second half saw the visitors smash the crossbar early on.
With five minutes left in the contest, Bideford got themselves back into the game thanks to a goal from Ben Palmer.
Then three minutes into added on time, the visitors scored a second from Alex Byrne.
This set up a frantic finale with seven minutes of additional time, but the Dragons held on to take the win.
They will hope to build on this success on Saturday, when they have a trip to fifth placed Evesham.
