READING lost 3-2 to visiting Birmingham City as Jeremie Bela netted his first goals for the club in the victory.
The forward arrived at the Blues last month, rifled in a 25-yard free-kick to help clinch the three points against Reading.
Birmingham took the lead when Jude Bellingham's drive deflected off former Blues skipper Michael Morrison, but Yakou Meite equalised for Reading.
Bela's strike restored the visitors' advantage and he then teed up Alvaro Gimenez to make it 3-1 before Lucas Joao grabbed Reading's second.
Royals are next in action at Barnsley on Wednesday night.
