READING got back to winning ways with an excellent 3-0 victory over visiting Derby County, who were reduced to 10 men in the third minute.
Scott Malone was the man sent off after bringing down Yakou Meite in the penalty area as the last man.
Charlie Adam converted from the spot which was his first goal in nearly two years for the Royals.
Lucas Joao made it 2-0 to Reading's just before the hour mark, after latching on to sub John Swift's pass.
The Royals completed the 3-0 win with three minutes left, when Meite also netted from with a penalty after Lucas Joao was fouled by Craig Forsyth.
Reading are at home again on Boxing Day evening (7.30pm), when they entertain QPR.
