THE Basingstoke Bison remain third in the National League table despite losing 4-2 at the Sheffield Steeldogs.
The home side took the lead in the contest at 2:26 as man of the match Jack Brammer scored.
The Dogs doubled their advantage on the powerplay in the seventh minute as Timothy Smith scored.
Sheffield extended their lead at 22:10 as Jan Danecek netted as this point the visitors switched their netminder as Dan Weller Evans took over from Alex Mettam.
Just 37 seconds later, the Bison opened their account as Sam Talbot scored from Liam Morris and Alex Sampford.
The Herd started the third the better, but the Dogs made the game safe with five minutes left as Valdimir Luka netted.
The Bison scored their final goal of the contest five seconds from time as Michal Klejna converted a pass from Tom Ralph.
This Saturday, the Herd are back in home action when the Hull Pirates are the visitors.
