Another Saturday when the local football programme was deeply affected by the February rain
At least the Peter Raynbird Cup Cup semi-final between Renegades and Tadley Calleva Development was played, and what a cracker it turned out to be.
It was the hosts Renegades that struck the only goal of the half, on 24 minutes Charlie Dobson capitalised on a Tadley defence mistake to make it 1-0.
Renegades came out lively after the break and within five minutes Kenny Tyce put Merson Webb through to score.
Four minutes later, Webb put his strike partner Dobson through for 3-0, which effectively killed the result.
Webb and Dobson up front were majestic throughout, while the Renegades back three of Richard Woodhouse, Connor Morey and Kenny Tyce were solid, the team playing good one-two and three touch football. Tadley pulled one back on 82 minutes through Fred Ball as it finished 3-1.
In the only other game, Division One between Oakridge and Hook, was played through a horrendous hail storm.
It was bottom side Oakridge that opened the scoring 1-0 Sam Mosdell passing to Sam Trodd to slot inside the neat post. Before the interval however, Hook had taken a 2-1 lead.
Oakridge continued to play decent football in the middle of the park but unable to reach their strikers.
After the break, Hook stretched their lead to 3-1, but Noah Pratchett was brought down in the Hook box and converted the penalty to reduce the gap to one goal.
Oakridge had created chances but lacked that final ball.
Hook dominated the final 20 minutes as the heavy pitch took its toll and scored again as it finished 4-2.
This Saturday's fixtures are Basingstoke B Cup semi-final: AFC Aldermaston Development v North Warnborough.
Division 1: AFC Berg v Silchester Village, Oakridge v Overton Utd Res, Tadley Calleva Development v Hook.
Division 2: AFC Berg Res v Renegades Res, Basingstoke Ath v Tidworth Town, Chineham v Overton Utd A, CK Andover v Herriard Sports.
